With its air-conditioned banqueting rooms, and beautifully landscaped gardens and stunning views, it’s ideal for weddings, private dinners, celebrations and parties from 2 to 200 people. Our chefs guarantee to use the best Cumbrian produce whenever possible, and this, together with the opportunity to create a wedding day unique to you, will ensure that you have the day of which you always dreamed.
Roundthorn Country House is one of Cumbria’s premier wedding venues and is well-known for its expertise in wedding receptions. The Cumbrian Suite can accommodate up to 150 guests for a Wedding Breakfast, and for the evening, up to 200 guests can join in the dancing, or enjoy a quieter drink in the Lounge Bar.
Roundthorn is also licensed for civil ceremonies in the Eden and Eamont and Lowther Rooms, making a lovely alternative to the registry office. We would be pleased to talk to you about your specific requirements, in conjunction with the registrar, and put together a unique package for your special day, including the ceremony, wedding breakfast, reception drinks and accommodation.
With its fantastic views over the Eden Valley and Lakeland Fells and with its beautiful landscaped gardens, Roundthorn lends itself perfectly to a traditional summer wedding, while the grandeur of the Georgian mansion, with its cosy lounges and open log fires, also makes it magical for a winter wedding.
The hotel’s ten en-suite bedrooms are available for your wedding guests at a specially discounted rate, and, if additional rooms are required, we can provide a listing of other recommended accommodation situated close by. On the booking of both the day and evening receptions, a complementary four poster room is given to the Bride and Groom for their wedding night.
The house can be exclusively yours for the day. The staff at the Roundthorn will look after you throughout the planning stages and, most importantly, on the day itself, ensuring your special day is just right in every way possible.
