Donald Campbell’s iconic hydroplane, the K7, has now made its return to Coniston after a meticulous two-decade restoration led by specialist engineers. You can now view the BLUEBIRD K7 in the Bluebird Wing at the Ruskin Museum in Coniston, thanks to the efforts of Bill Smith and the Bluebird Project team. The team successfully brought both the K7 and its pilot to the surface in 2001 after Campbell’s tragic accident in January 1967.”

Don’t forget to also check out The Lakeland Motor Museum, which is also marking the 60th anniversary of Donald Campbell’s historic speed records on water and land. The museum has a special exhibit dedicated to the Campbell racing family, showcasing vehicles from the record-breaking era, along with a collection of Bluebird memorabilia.
