'My wife and I have just returned from a four night break at this 'home from home'. We cannot praise this hotel and in particular the staff, highly enough. Right from the personal way in which the booking was done online through to the happiest welcome we have ever received from reception, to the offer of some tea and biscuits on arrival, to be shown to our brand new luxury suite (all the rooms are of the highest quality and standard); the quite wonderful food and great housekeeping - there is not much more to say - but we will.
We have been luck to have stayed at hotels of all standards and sizes all over thw world - but honestly - this is one of the very best.
Now the staff. They are so helpful (echoed by all the other guests we spoke to), nothing is too much trouble. They are happy to chat and really do seem interested in what they are doing.
The hotel is exceptionally well appointed and full of charm (only 20 bedrooms); the grounds are stunning and they even had outside kennels which we were able to use for our 2 dogs - they were happy too!
The food is ecxcellent as mentioned by other reviewers - good choices and a good a la carte menu too. Presentation was professional and the portions good.
The hotel is at the end of what must be a mile long drive from the main road, so very remote and quiet. Great walks on site and nearby with stunning coast to visit.
But the top rating must go to ALL the staff, Classic Lodges have a great template here and we wish them every success - they deserve it.'
