Tom Kerridge and Giles Coren at Allium in Bath

 

Though only a few month's old, Allium Brasserie at our Associate Hotel, The Abbey in Bath, has positioned itself as one of the best places to eat in Bath and the Brasserie, under chef Chris Staines, has just won the Best Newcomer Award at the 2013 Bath Good Food Awards. Over the next few weeks there is a selection of events celebrating great food and featuring the two-Michelin-starred chef, Tom Kerridge, and the restaurant critic of The Times, Gile Coren. Tom Kerridge, owner chef at the Michelin-starred The Hand & Flowers in Marlow is one of the most acclaimed chefs in the UK. He’s appeared on the Great British Menu and Saturday Kitchen. He joins head chef, Chris Staines, and his team to create an superb evening.

Giles Coren at Allium


Restaurant critic of The Times (and recent on-the-scene Olympics reporter), Giles Coren writes with huge wit and candour. In 2005, he was named Food and Drink Writer of the Year, published his first (and last) novel, Winkler and began presenting The F-Word on Channel 4 with Gordon Ramsay. Since then, he has presented a documentary series on biotechnology in the food chain (Animal Farm), a polemical film about the obesity crisis (Tax the Fat), and several series of The Supersizers Go…with Sue Perkins. He also wrote Anger Management for Beginners. He’ll be talking about his latest book How To Eat Out, something that has taken him a lifetime to master. It doesn’t matter if it’s fish and chips, takeaway pizza, a medieval banquet or a slap-up nosh at the Hotel de Posh, there is always a right way and wrong way to do it, and Coren will tell you how, and be signing copies of the book after the event.

£19.95 per person including a glass of wine at the signing followed by a two-course dinner in Allium including another glass of wine.
